So You Want To Start A Home Based Business

When deciding to start a home-based internet marketing business the first thing you do is not to listen to negative friends and family. They are already miserable and what makes you think that they would be happy for you when misery LOVES company? Do not ask them for their opinion… unless they are successful entrepreneurial minded individuals. If they are employees that would never leave their crappy job because of the "great" benefits then you know for sure they will have nothing positive to say… an example of what you will hear: You are crazy! Why would you want to start a business in this economy? What do you know about starting a business? Is that one of those pyramid schemes? You get my drift.

So you decide on a great Network Marketing company. Then take some but not all the advice your up line gives you because most times there marketing tactics are out of date. Depending on the company that you get involved with… your upline may tell you to get on the phone and call everyone under the sun that you know. Now that is fine and dandy… keep in mind that these people are for practice purposes only, some may be interested and some may not and will say one of the negative statements above! DO NOT get discouraged!

What you want to remember is that this is a long term organization you are building. You are the CEO of your multi billion dollar company. You need to focus on enrolling reps in your business but you have to keep in mind that you are looking to attract other individuals that are qualified to be business owners as well. Remember…Not everyone is cut out for Entrepreneurship. That is fine we business owners need those people to do the work that we just don’t have time for… so you hire them as employees.

The next thing that you want to do is get yourself a personally branded website. Giving information about yourself, who you are, what you’re about, and what you have to offer the world. Remember you are promoting you Inc…not your business. People do business with people… not businesses. Offer valuable information that you learn along the way for your reps and prospects to learn from. You’ll be amazed what you learn as time goes on and you figure things out.

One bit of advice that I can give is that when you first get started you’ll want to utilize the internet to build your business then get a blog up and running, post video trainings, motivation, and advice. Don’t worry about it looking perfect…mine changed quite a few times before it got to what it is today. Who cares? Just do it. Don’t be that person that uses the excuse that its not perfect. Do you know why? That is all that it is… an excuse. Start adding content. Articles that you write, other content that you outsource or even Information that other internet marketers have posted that you found valuable. There are a bazillion people out there so don’t focus on scarcity… focus on abundance… What I’m getting at is that just because you share something of value that you found elsewhere doesn’t mean that people will look at you differently… its sharing …ya know sharing is caring.

Keep in mind that not everyone is going to like you. Who cares if they do or don’t? This is not a popularity contest. OMG did she say that… yes I did just like I don’t expect everyone to like me. Because I know that I don’t mesh with everyone. I’m cool with that because there are a whole lot of people that I do mesh with.

Absolutely utilize Twitter, Facebook and other social networking sites to generate leads. Just remember that this is about building relationships. It’s ok to make friends and get to know these people. Find out about there family and what there needs are. Do not expect anything in return just be helpful.

When you get into marketing on the internet make sure you absolutely take advantage of Video Marketing. Video is an important aspect of building your business today, such as video tutorials, videos on something new that you learned, tried and had success with, even video emails! Don’t be afraid to turn the camera on and talk to yourself…LOL It can be uncomfortable at first but as time goes on you get more and more comfortable and always…always… keep it real! Be yourself don’t be fake and phony…believe me people can smell fakeness a mile away and through the computer screen. Not only that but today we are creatures of "Right NOW’! In other words we would rather watch a video than read a long article…and not say that reading is bad but some people just feel that they don’t have the time and you want to keep their attention!
